Psychologists across the country agree that a key element of self-care during the quarantine and isolation periods associated with the COVID-19 pandemic is staying connected to one another.
Most disability service centers that normally provide adult day programs, support groups, recreational activities, and events have had to shut down in order to maintain the safety of their workers and patrons. Several of these groups across Michigan, however, have maintained a virtual presence during this period, offering classes, support groups, informational webinars, and meetings.
Here’s what Michigan disability services are up to.
Friendship Circle Goes Virtual: The Friendship Circle of Michigan is a non-profit organization that offers opportunities for inclusion and socialization for children, teens, and adults with a broad range of needs and abilities. Their devoted staff has created a Facebook group with virtual recreational and informational programming and content consistent with their mission.
Disability Network Mid-Michigan: Disability Network Mid-Michigan offers a way to connect with them virtually on Wednesdays. What’s Up Wednesdays are zoom meeting discussions about various topics impacting people with disabilities. About ABC Law Centers
ABC Law Centers was established to focus exclusively on birth injury cases. A “birth injury” is any type of harm to a baby that occurs just before, during, or after birth. This includes issues such as oxygen deprivation, infection, and trauma. While some children with birth injuries make a complete recovery, others develop disabilities such as cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
If a birth injury/subsequent disability could have been prevented with proper care, then it constitutes medical malpractice. Settlements from birth injury cases can cover the costs of lifelong treatment, care, and other crucial resources.
If you believe you may have a birth injury case for your child, please contact us today to learn more. We are happy to talk to you free of any obligation or charge. In fact, clients pay nothing throughout the entire legal process unless we win.
