Emily Thomas Selected as Up & Coming Lawyer

original_Emily_Thomas_bio_photoe609Every year, Michigan Lawyers Weekly announces the top 30 “Up & Coming” lawyers. For 2015, they’ve named Reiter & Walsh P.C.’s Emily Thomas. She practiced law at Reiter & Walsh P.C. for almost three years, and continues to show her passion for advocacy in her everyday work.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly makes this decision based on her “ambition, drive, determination and accomplishments.” Their selection criteria finds lawyers who go above and beyond and set themselves apart from the rest of their peers. This list consists of the hardest working lawyers who are in their first 10 years of practice.

In her four years as an attorney, she accomplished much in her career, both in and out of the courtroom. Within the past year, she co-authored an article on birth trauma and medical malpractice litigation for the American Association for Justice. Super Lawyers magazine has even named her as a “Rising Star.” Recently, she ran a marathon for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and raised money for the cause.

She is also active in several bar associations. These include, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Birth Trauma Litigation Group and the Michigan Association for Justice.

Her desire to help the disabled and to advocate for her clients have kept her driven and focused. In her work, she helps her clients to gain the resources they need to live their everyday lives. As a birth injury lawyer in the State of Michigan, she sees clients around the country that need her expertise in medical malpractice. At Reiter & Walsh P.C., she settled several multi-million dollar cases for her clients.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly will recognize her for her accomplishments and as an Up & Coming lawyer at the Detroit Marriot luncheon in Troy on Dec. 17, 2015. On Dec. 21, she will be in a special section of Michigan Lawyers Weekly. To find out more about her work, please visit her bio page.
