well there is great summer camps available to children with disabilities or special needs. The benefits are really similar to just any kid going to summer camp. There are activities they can do where they can interact with people that are just like them from different parts of the country, they get to participate in fun activities just like any other average kid would, they get to do relay races, whether it be in a wheelchair, they get to do swimming races, dances, social events, and it really gives them this sense of independence. Where they get to explore what they can do independent of their parents or physicians or other people that might be with them on a daily basis. It gives them a renewed sense of self confidence, independence, and this surge of confidence in being able to do these new activities and have great experiences that a lot of kids with special needs or disabilities don’t necessarily get to have on a day to day basis. If you have a child with cerebral palsy or special needs, please feel free to give us a call, there’s many activities and resources that your child can be involved in that they will look forward to and enjoy everyday.
